Angela Reid
Mary Sturgeon

Angela Reid, Kelowna

Angela Reid is the President of Tigress Ventures, a company focused on building strategic partnerships with decision makers and leaders for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in British Columbia and Alberta.Tigress Ventures assists Canadian renewable energy companies to expand operations into the dense and demanding US market. Angela provides consulting for a range of environmental ventures and has over ten years experience working with all levels of business, NGOs and Canadian and US governments in project management, business development, procurement and funding programs.

Angela also serves on the Board and as VP of Government and Public Relations for BioStreet Canada Inc, a bioenergy company currently building a biodiesel facility in Vegreville, AB, and is responsible for strategic planning and implementation of government and public relations strategy, analysis and reporting on carbon trading opportunities and managing applications for federal and provincial funding programs.

 

 

Mary Sturgeon, Vancouver

Mary Sturgeon is a communications and public relations professional, having developed and implemented strategic communications programs for non-profit, government and commercial organizations for the past 17 years. With a background working primarily with technology companies and organizations looking to develop an online strategy, Mary is skilled at translating complex technical data into information that helps both individuals and businesses to understand and embrace new technologies.

About three years ago, a series of events in Mary's life prompted her to reevaluate her career and expand her focus to work that was more meaningful to her. In 2006, she relocated to Vancouver from Ontario and joined the BCSEA Vancouver chapter as a volunteer. She has recently launched her own communications consulting business, Big Fish Communications, whose focus is on working with clients operating within the sustainable energy sector, climate change advocacy/education, wildlife/animal protection, and HIV/AIDS care.
