BC Sustainable Energy Association Nominated for VIATec Award

VICTORIA, BC-The Vancouver Island Advanced Technology Centre (VIATeC) has announced the finalists for the VIATeC 2006 Technology Awards. The BC Sustainable Energy Association (BCSEA) has been nominated in the Community Involvement category which recognises an individual or organisation that has demonstrated its commitment to Vancouver Island communities through philanthropic support and participation.

BCSEA's nomination cites the many public presentations, educational field trips, special events and projects spawned by the provincial organization on its home turf of southern Vancouver Island. The organization maintains a very active schedule of policy and public engagement on energy and climate change solutions.

VIATec's fourteen awards celebrate excellence and innovation in the Vancouver Island technology industry, recognizing members who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the technology sector through involvement, volunteering and support of VIATeC.

The 2006 VIATeC Technology Awards will be held on May 17 at the Victoria Conference Centre, where 500 of the technology and business community’s movers and shakers will celebrate excellence in Vancouver Island’s technology community. Tickets are available through VIATeC.

The BCSEA is a non-profit association of citizens, professionals and practitioners, committed to promoting the understanding, development, and adoption of sustainable energy and energy conservation and efficiency in British Columbia.
