The Kamloops Chapter is in the midst of major changes! Our meeting on May 20th was the last attended by our long-time Chair Cheryl Kabloona, who is stepping down from BCSEA volunteer work.
Cheryl has been instrumental in putting the Kamloops Chapter on the map through numerous important community projects over the last 15 years. She started volunteering with the Kamloops Chapter in 2006, and took the Chair role in 2010, served on the board of directors as Treasurer in 2012 and 2013. In 2019, Cheryl was awarded the Exemplary Service Award by the City of Kamloops.
Some of the projects that Cheryl and the team of BCSEA Kamloops volunteers put together over the years (along with partner organizations) include Kamloops Energy Fair (yearly, from 2007-2010), the Solar Laundry Project (in 2012 and 2013), hosted urban advisor Gil Penelosa (2015), Solar Compass at TRU (completed in 2017), Electric Vehicle Shows (in 2018 and 2019).
The BCSEA Board of Directors would like to take this opportunity to thank Cheryl for her years of service and dedication to our organization and the Kamloops Chapter!
