WISE 2023

Vancouver Chapter Update – April, 2023
On June 8th, WiSE (Women in Sustainable Energy) Networking Evening is back for the fifth annual installment in downtown Vancouver.
What is WiSE?
It’s a networking and mentorship-focused event focused on growing the community of Women in Sustainable Energy in the Vancouver area. The event has been run by volunteers Selina Liu, Erin Quon, and various other BCSEA contributors since 2017.
The event runs with invited mentors, sharing their experience both in their sector and on their career path, and answering questions from the guests. The evening starts with a quick (~1 min) introduction by each mentor at their station. And for the rest of the evening, guests meet and mingle with the mentors and each other. The event’s focus is fun and casual networking, with just enough structure to support personal connections and knowledge sharing.
There are typically 100-150 attendees in total, including volunteers, mentors, and ticketed guests.
Why WiSE?
WiSE’s founding team is passionate about sustainability, community, and building a platform for diverse voices. Our goal for this event is to strengthen the community of women in sustainable energy by creating a space for women to meet, mingle, and learn about the role that women play in the sustainable energy sector.
