BCSEA 20th Anniversary celebration at the Everything Electric CANADA Show

BCSEA was excited to participate for the first time in the world’s No 1 Clean Energy & Electric Vehicle show, Everything Electric CANADA, which took place in Vancouver last week. The show first launched in 2023 as Fully Charged LIVE Canada in Vancouver by British-based, global YouTube sensation, the Fully Charged SHOW. It is built around regular visitor attractions – such as the Giga & Mega Theatres, Home Energy Advice Team, Test Drive Program, Micro Mobility Zone and more – as well as more than 100 booths. Fifteen car makers attended to create Canada’s biggest ever battery electric vehicle test drive program, and the opportunity to get a first look at several highly anticipated electric cars, including the Polestar P3 and BMW i5. The 2024 event at the Vancouver Convention Centre was targeting between 20,000 and 25,000 attendees.

There were also hundreds of exhibitors covering cutting-edge technologies, sustainable living, and zero-carbon innovations along with tons of live sessions. We also had the opportunity to not only test drive electric vehicles of all shapes and sizes but micro-mobility devices as well.

Brian Douglas, BCSEA Board Member participated in a panel discussion on Sept 6  on’ Why are Wind, Solar, and Storage likely to be the big needle movers?’  Ajay Kumar from BC Hydro and Rob Baxter with VREC rounded out this panel moderated by Matt Ferrell of ‘Undecided about Matt Ferrell.

BCSEA’s booth showcased our work supporting sustainable energy policy, innovation, and education in British Columbia. We were thrilled to see all the people who stopped by to discuss the work of the BCSEA, and we were in turn educated by all of the innovators with booths at the show, as well as those in the industry who attended.

And not to forget, at our September 8th Meet and Greet we celebrated our 20th anniversary! It was great fun to connect with those involved both in the past and present with BCSEA while enjoying food, drink, and a large anniversary cake.  Four of BCSEA’s members were recognized with Long Service Awards: Guy Dauncey, Tom Hackney, Bill Andrews, and Paul Rasmussen. Tom was able to attend to accept his award and cut the first slice of cake!

Thank you again to our many volunteers who spent time at the booth and helped to make our 20th-anniversary celebration a big success!
