BCSEA’s Women in Sustainable Energy (WiSE) returns on November 5, 2026.  This event supports Equal by 30 and brings together professionals, students, mentors, allies, and industry leaders committed to advancing women in the energy sector.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Charlotte Mitha
President and CEO, BC Hydro

Charlotte Mitha is President and Chief Executive Officer of BC Hydro, one of North
America’s largest electricity utilities, serving more than five million customers across
British Columbia. A professional engineer and experienced utility executive, Charlotte
brings more than three decades of experience in the energy sector, with deep expertise
spanning electricity generation, transmission, distribution, operations and infrastructure
delivery.
Since becoming President and CEO in 2025, Charlotte has led BC Hydro during a pivotal
period of growth and transformation. As demand for clean electricity accelerates, BC
Hydro’s focus is on expanding and modernizing British Columbia’s electricity system to
support economic development, industrial electrification, and the province’s climate
objectives. Charlotte’s leadership priorities include ensuring reliable and affordable power,
progressing major infrastructure investments, advancing reconciliation, strengthening
system resilience in the face of climate-related challenges and securing the energy supply
needed for future generations.
Charlotte holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the
University of British Columbia and an MBA from Royal Holloway, University of London.

Grace Quan
President and CEO,
Hydrogen in Motion
and BCSEA Board Member

As the President and CEO of Hydrogen In Motion Inc. (H2M), Grace Quan brings fiduciary accountability to the table with her CPA/MBA credentials.  Grace has a vast range of financial and managerial experience in private and public sectors from managing a Flying School, to working in a Provincial Minister’s office, to helping to manage Canada’s $250 billion dollar budget with the Treasury Board Secretariat of Canada. 

Grace’s career in the federal government also includes working in international development and trade with Global Affairs Canada.  This varied experience gives Grace an insider understanding of the functioning and intersectionality between business, government and society. 

Grace is on the Board of the Canadian Hydrogen Association (CHA) and the Board of the Sustainable Energy Council (UK) and a Board member for the British Columbia Sustainable Energy Association.  In 2018 Grace Quan, CEO was recognized by BC Business magazine as one of the 50 Most Influential Women In STEM, Board Director.
