As autumn settles across British Columbia, I hope you all had a restful and meaningful Thanksgiving with family, friends, and loved ones. In these moments of gratitude and togetherness, we are reminded of how our choices, big and small, shape the world we share.

As the crisp air returns, it’s a fitting time to reflect on the challenges and opportunities ahead for energy sustainability in our province. At BCSEA, we remain committed to the vision of a 100 % sustainably powered British Columbia, and through education, policy advocacy, outreach, and community programs we seek to build the foundations for the energy transition we so urgently need.

This October the BCSEA once again hosted our annual WiSE (Women in Sustainable Energy)  in Vancouver—an evening bringing together women, allies, mentors, and leaders in clean energy to exchange ideas, forge connections, and inspire action.  Read more about this popular event below.  Meanwhile, our chapters from Victoria to Prince George continue hosting local workshops, community projects, and volunteer events that turn ideas into practice. We also carry forward BCSEA’s long-running Cool It! Climate Leadership Training program, which empowers students to become sustainability champions through interactive workshops. That program helps plant seeds of climate leadership in young people and extends its reach into homes and communities.

As we approach Remembrance Day, a time to honour those who served and reflect on collective sacrifice, let us also recommit ourselves to serving future generations by building a sustainable energy system that protects our homes, our communities, and our planet. Whether participating in local memorial ceremonies, improving insulation, adopting clean transport, or supporting community clean energy projects, each act echoes BCSEA’s vision for a resilient future.

As a Board member, I see real potential in deepening our collaboration with members, partners, and volunteers over the coming months. If you have ideas for how BCSEA can expand its reach, strengthen its impact, or engage new audiences, especially in rural or underserved regions please reach out at info@bcsea.org.

Your support, whether as a member, volunteer, or advocate, is vital to building an energy-resilient and climate-aware future for all British Columbians.
