VREC (Vancouver Renewable Energy) has been selling, installing, and providing consulting services for renewable energy systems since 2004.

We were the first contractor to install a grid-tie photovoltaic system in BC. Since then we have installed hundreds of systems on residential, commercial, and institutional buildings.

We have built our reputation based on providing practical solutions and accurate expectations of what renewable energy systems can provide.

The systems we have installed have generated over 1,200,000 kWh of clean power and prevented over 38,000 kg of greenhouses gases.

 We also initiated BC’s first cooperatively owned community solar project, installed the first on-site PPA in BC, installed the northern most grid-tie system in Canada and installed solar on award winning net zero buildings.

We are members of the BC Sustainable Energy Association, the Canadian Solar Industries Association, the Canadian Workers Coop Federation, and the Clean Energy BC.
